Title: The Switch
Genre: Comedy
Release Date: August 20, 2010
Run Time: 101 mins.
Rating: PG-13
"The real switch here is that things aren’t gross like expected, just funny and heartwarming."
At one time, the movie we now know as “The Switch” was going to be called “The Baster,” like the short story from The New Yorker that inspired it. The people in charge of things thought better because “The Switch” works on multiple levels, but mostly because it supplements the purest plot strand—woman decides to get pregnant through unconventional means and her long-time man friend gets drunk and switches out the donor’s sperm for his own—with complexity.
