“Morning Glory” is at a glance the sort of the movie that you watch at 8 o’clock on a Sunday night because it comes on while you’re channel surfing and you just don’t have the extra energy to switch the channel even once more. There’s nothing about its premise—ambitious girl loses her job and starts a new one with surly and generally dysfunctional coworkers—that stands out as particularly fresh. Like so many movies that start with a generic idea and turn into something worth watching, though, any strength that “Morning Glory” might possess comes from its characters.
